Hey everybody.
I've been seeing forum post after forum post about the DRZ 400 S seat height. Is it too tall? Is it too small? etc. Well there seems to be a big shortage of good videos displaying the actual seat height. I'm 5'9" with a 30" inseam @ 155 lbs (pretty much the epitome of "average"). My bike has a shaved version of the stock seat, but it BARELY cuts off 1/2 an inch. So basically raise my feet .5" and you'll see what the stock seat looks like. As you can see I can comfortably touch, with the front half of my foot flat on the ground. I can easily lean the bike over to either side to gain a completely flat foot. I thought this would be a somewhat helpful video to anyone wanting to buy a new DRZ, but were afraid of its height!

  • why is it blue

  • @mecca421

It's a 2001 model. They made them in Yellow or Blue that year.

  • so would the drz 400 sm be shorter and if so how much?

  • Yeah it would be a bit shorter than this. Maybe a couple inches. The front tire on the 400 S is 21" whereas on the SM it's 17" so that's a pretty big difference.

  • Haha ok before any 1 says anything i know i spelled like everything wrong in my last comment

  • Glad it was of some use to you

  • I like the quality. What kind of potato did you use?

  • @MotorTourerPA

    Stand pivots!

  • most suzukis are blue but a different shade of blue to the yamaha blue but deppizzymo dont worry thats how a dirt bike should be really

  • Really helps. Let's me know there's no way I can ride comfortably. SM is the route for me.

  • ok thank you i was lookin at them and i like the sm. but how do they ride on the road

  • I'm 5'-9" and have no problems fitting on my 2004 S. I bought the factory gel seat when I got the bike. It's a little lower, just not great for long rides on the road. They are great bikes, get one!
