Kennywood's closing song played every night at the end of the day. The song is from 1941 and is sung by Alvino Rey & Yvonne King. Video taken on August 6, 2007. They close between 10:00 and 11:00 pm now. I can remember being there until about 1:00 am back in the 1980's.

The song's lyrics:

Nighty night, until tomorrow
Nighty night, for what sweet sorrow
To be parting dear, from you
With a farewell kiss or two (or three)
Nighty night, while my arms take you
Nighty night, till birdies wake you
Dream of me and just sleep tight
Darling, nighty night.

Nighty night, while my arms take you
Nighty night, till birdies wake you
Dream of me and just sleep tight
Darling, oh, good night.

  • My 85 year old grandfather asked me if I could find this song... that's the first time he's heard it since the 30s.

  • i think clp may be closing =(

  • Thanks so much for listing the singers! I couldn't find the singers anywhere. I've been going to Kennywood all my life and it has just occurred to me that I should download this beautiful song! :p This video is wonderful. :) Kennywood at night is so exquisite! =D

  • Down here in Florida, we may have the pig parks with the newest rides and high tech coasters. But what we lack is what Pennsylvania has in abundance, and that's tradition and history. We've got Busch Gardens, Sea World, WDW, and Universal Studios. Pennsylvania has Idlewild Park, Kennywood Park, Kenobels, Hersheypark, Lakemont Park, Dorney Park, Conneaut Lake Park, and Waldameer Park. I hope these parks never die especially CLP.
