'Song of The Blue Lotus' is the opening track from Asher Quinn's new album (2011) "Falling Through Time".
Described as a modern-day troubadour, Asher's music ranges from instrumental new age compositions, drawing comparisons to Peter Gabriel, Phillip Glass and Enigma, to his more recent singer-songwriter albums, which have been compared favourably to artists such as Leonard Cohen, Damien Rice, Bob Dylan and Cat Stevens. The unique quality to Asher's songs, however, is a kind of pure, visionary spirituality.
Since his debut album "Open Secret" in 1987, Asher has sold over half a million albums, and is considered by many as one of the finest singer-songwriters in the new age/contemporary crossover genres.
"Falling Through Time" consists of 16 tracks, with 9 brand new compositions, 6 traditional pieces and a cover of 'This Little Bird', made famous by Marianne Faithfull. Produced with Shaun Britton, for Singing Stone Music.
