As a Singaporean, this is way too common. The Ministry of Manpower is highly reluctant to acknowledge the blood and slavery that the country builds its progress on. Please tell people about it - that Singapore, like many rich countries, thrive on slavery. And we need to help these people based on human compassion

thanks to Aljazeera for exposing this, but one has to think why do the govt. of south asian countries not build their own countries so that their citizens don`t feel the need to leave their homeland. South Asian govt.s are just as at fault as the countries that are taking advantage of them....

but i think centuries of caste system brought about this level of poverty, even africa is not as bad as india or bangladesh or any of those countries

sad how poor people get taken advantage of in such an inhuman way. Keep up the good work Al Jazeera. At the very least you're spreading awareness of the injustices happening in major Asian cities...
