  • nice...how did u get him to start talking?...any tips? my ringneck is also a male at around 7 months old.

  • @adHafeez just talk to him every time hi see you,i recommend to not repeat the same word every time, talk to him different word and hi will catch up, take time and patience,, this is a African Ringneck, they are more loud then the Indian Ringneck,,they looks almost the same, just the African have a very, very long tail and the Indian have more Blue in the head, and the tail is long but not as long of the African R.N.

  • @TheCarvingman Doisy is a Indian Ringneck not an African. My camera washes out his color so you really can't base his species based on the color he appears in the video or how loud he seems to be. In person, he is a much brighter green with blueish feathers above his ring. Furthermore, ARNs are smaller and have a dark, plum colored beak not red.

  • @adHafeez When I talk to him, I tend to repeat a lot. The things I say to him the most, he also says. I also reinforce whenever he talks by giving him a treat. Doisy is very food motivated. He also imitates higher sounds easier so therefore I tend to pitch my voice higher to make it easier for him to copy. Give your ringneck time. Doisy didn't start talking till around 1 year old but each bird is different.
