Kaliya Franklin is a remarkable young lady with a disability which totally cripples many... and which rewards even someone as determined as she is with incredible pain/total exhaustion when she over-exerts - yet still she persists in campaigning for everything that's right and decent in the welfare state...she's a total star, and as someone who's fortunate enough to be relatively fit and well (barring a heart complaint which happily hasn't stopped me working) I salute her and commend her to you!

@CaptMidnight87 adult learning disability centre, but our local NHS has nothing in place to accept that officially and put it in writing.
Many factors have made life hard - i've suffered with a large amount of back pain for over 15 years, but I was never able to express just how bad it was at times (think: can you wipe your own ass without tears of pain).
Thankfully, despite several attempts to get it looked at, I was eventually referred to a specialist, and i'm now on 19 tablets a day.

@CaptMidnight87 "unless you have a serious disability" is a bit of a misnomer - just because a disability is not glaringly obvious doesn't mean they're able to function normally in a given situation.
I've struggled to keep up the premise of a normal life for my entire life, until it unravelled in spectacular style last year at the age of 40, when I had a complete mental breakdown, and was suicidal for most of the year. I've been told i've got aspergers by the consultant psych of a specialist...

The neighbours worried about paying for people who can't work? So people who can't work as opposed to people who won't work, so the people who can't work should be made to work then?

@peekaypurr Did you get to talk to him or arrange an appointment?

Does the incompetent person wielding the microphone work for ATOS Origin?

Milliband is a total Muppet. If society has written someone of then that is the EXACT reason why they should be on benefits!!
-
@CaptMidnight87 And how do you judge a serious disability, exactly? The current system and ATOS are preventing thousands of people who need it the most from having even the bare finances that they need to live and forcing them into trying to find jobs that are detrimental to their health.
I think you severly misunderestimate how much damage it is causing to disabled people, their health and their lives. People have died because the system failing, yet they brand us as benefit scroungering scum.

You were incredible, thank you so much! I've been following your videos for a while and seeing you there, suddenly on television, tackling Ed Miliband head on was nothing short of wonderful!
I have EDS too and unfortunately I'm terrible at public speaking and my words get all mixed up, especially when I'm in that moment. So thank you, thank you so much! I'm so proud to be on the same side as you :D

corr: A well-constructed question about disability from a credible Kaliya Franklin @BendyGirl. Put to the current spokesperson of a party that flies the flag for welfare. Yet, Labour failed all for over a decade by not investing anything from the boom times in perpeuity for correctly targeted social and welfare. The last person to expect a credible response from is one that helped craft gordon brown's manifesto for a faux-economy constructed from borrowings, debt and public sector largesse.
