I can't believe we went from Bishop Sheen to Joel Osteen, haha cheers!

@DortAmKlavier it is self defeating, and thus cannot be true.

@Tibly or they protest for feel-good wars like Darfur, or for a "fair wage" which they can't earn with their art history degrees.

Wow, this man is brilliant! This shows what television could be.

I love Fulton Sheen! His criticism of television is especially appropriate.

Fulton Sheen . . .prophet, way ahead of his time. So much of what he warned has come to fruition. Abba, hear the prayers of your children everywhere. JESUS, I TRUST IN YOU! JMJ

@Jitpring Bishop sheen never said that. What he said is actually that we be open yet taste. He kinda gives synthesis, to discriminate is mostly to totally reject. He never said that. Taste and see if it appeals to our reason. If it seems unreasonable then leave it. We should not over specialize but be open. Yes we filter error, how? by appealing to reason as B. Sheen does. Relativity exist but it is not for all things.

Brilliant and timeless.

Wow! Amazing how you can recognize the truth when you hear it!

@Jitpring ...well put...."militant mediocrity"
His comment on taste is especially apt. Today's militant mediocrity - that is, its militant egalitarianism - combined with our dictatorship of relativism demand that we be "open to all things." But this castrated age forgets that true openness requires discrimination: one must constantly filter out error to maintain one's apprehension of truth.

Very true. Relativism is a lie.
