Responding for an elderly lady suffering from chest pain, sitting in a red car in the driveway. As usual, look at the amount of vehicles which DO NOT pull over and stop!!! Check out the vehicle driving in the opposite direction which stops in the middle of the road, with it's hazard lights flashing!!!
PULL OVER TO THE RIGHT, CLEAR OF INTERSECTIONS AND STOP!!!
Thank you

  • Checking vitals, administering oxygen, and doing CPR and using a defibrillator if necessary.

  • Compared to the Smeal's and Seagrave's, what's the E-One like? Is there ever a need for that 50' ladder? I think it was 2 or 3 summers ago that I passed by the station as I drove my kids to summer camp, and I saw the ladder fully extended one morning, but other than that you never see it used.

  • @DeanVernonWormer The ladder was used just last fall at a large truck fire in behind a commercial complex around 2:00am in the morning. Used as a water tower and for lighting the area. It has two large spotlights attached at the tip.

This is a very versatile truck, and will be missed when it's replaced.

It's sister truck is located at the Toronto Island Fire Hall.

  • Great video, thanks for posting! Not pulling over or stopping - is that just a problem in Toronto / Canada? In the USA, if I'm not wrong, traffic pulls over / stops almost invariably to all emergency vehicles.

  • @gsimim The issue is problematic thoughout theToronto Area. I can't speak for the rest of Canada, except for Vancouver BC. I've been there too, and in some cases it's worse.

The problem in Toronto is we cant have anyone charged unless they are involved in a collision with an Emerg Vehicle. If we report a vehicle description and licence plate, the Police cannot charge anyone unless we can identify the driver. How do u do that while responding to an Emergency call???

  • @46fd04 Thats a pretty crappy law, considering they can ticket people with red light carmeas without identifying the driver...

  • how can a pumper crew help a lady with chest pain? do they have the necessary equipment in a pumper truck? just a question....

  • Not to sound stupid, but I didn't see your lights reflecting off anything.. Makes you wonder if they were on or not. Normally most signs will show a reflection of the flashing lights, not in this video..Also if the right lane is packed with cars, where doyou expect someone to go? at least they stopped...

  • In Toronto. But why?

  • @gsimim

Wow. What part of the country do you live in? xD

  • @46fd04 Right - P213's old rig. Interesting that P215's ladder was so effective. I wonder why the decision was made to go with Smeal's and Seagrave's.

Once the 12 new rigs enter service, it will be interesting to see what you end up with at 215. I hate to say it, but probably a hand-me-down, like P141's ALF. The bulk of the 12 new rigs will probably replace the ALF's, and the last few 1995 Spartans. It's just a guess, but I bet that P215 & P211 end up with other stations' rigs.
