He names three presumably muslim Nobel Prize winners and then added an "etc."(et al. is correct) At any rate, I wonder how many are behind that "etc.?" I'll bet maybe one or two but possibly zero. And he also got basic facts wrong: Yunus did not win the Prize in economics--he won it in Peace. I'll have to take his word on the other two. Now that's a couple of winners among 1.3 billion muslims. Next time you use math, make sure you thank a Muslim for inventing numerical system that it's used today. In respect to your claim about Muslims and their contribution to science and medicine, you should do some research on Ahmed H.Zewail (Noble Prize winner in chemistry 1999), Abdus Salam (Noble Prize winner in Physics 1979), Muhammad Yunus(Noble Prize winner for economics 2006)etc. Do your research on names like Ibn Khaldoum, Al'Khwarizmi,Ibn Sina,Al'Biruni.

As a non christian, i would love paying something such as jizya, because my taxes would be lower than that of the general or "ruling" public, plus i would not be obligated to fight or accept the army draft in war situations. So, in any case, jizya is a positive factor in respect to social welfare of non Muslims.

Islam is just one more superstition that ignorant, weak, semi-evolved humans embrace for fear of the darkness. And then brainwash their poor children into believing. Despite our flaws, the modern light of reason resides in the West. There's a reason that muslims almost never win Nobel Prizes in science and medicine, despite numbering over a billion people. Jizya was applicable only on adult able bodied dhimmies, while the sick, the poor, the slaves, etc. were exempted from paying it, but still enjoyed priviledges as Muslims. If one refused to pay jizya, he might have been imprisoned until he accepted the reality that Islamic law was in effect. In some cases the land of those who refused to pay jizya was bought out and they were escorted to non muslim lands. As to property/land of dhimmies, it's forbiden for Muslims to seize it, due to sharia law.

Let me also ask you, what happened to non-muslims living on lands--even land they lived on before it came under muslim domination--what happened to such people who refused to pay the tax and refused to leave the land?

Dhimmi is what a "protected" non-muslim under sharia law is called. This "protection" money is in the form of a tax called jizya. Did I say something different? They were treated as second-class citizens. I understand why muslims thought it was a great system. Perhaps we'll try something similar for muslims and see how well you like it.

Fairy tales? :) A wise man once said "we'll see". For your info. dhimmi is not a "protection" tax but rather jizya is, and i don't denounce it. Non Muslims living under sharia, enjoyed all priviledges as Muslims did, plus they were exempted from serving in Muslim army. why do you pay your taxes?
