Then you have the other basic commercial types. There's the housewife using products to keep "her" house cleaner or the kids happier. There's the idiot with a hot girlfriend who keeps getting in trouble. There's the use CGI and graphics and colors with music method. There's the be random and funny while involving the product method. There's the "make a connection with real people" method, where they take a non-threatening spokesperson to talk about why they care....and that's about it.

@neekarogwa haha yeah...basically like today's sitcoms, just not creative anymore, just a few recycled styles, and most of the time they show in no way how their product does that and their competitors doesnt, its all mind games

Then, you have the classic housewife ads, where you learn how the product helps "her" around the house with kids or cleaning or whatever. There's the idiot male with a hot girlfriend who's always getting in trouble. There are the ones with guys doing manly things with whatever product. There are the ones with people doing random but funny things while using the product in some way.....that's about it. Recycle, Repeat, and Re-use. Just not if its creative advertising. Then it gets boring.

Agreed. Advertising in general, as a system, needs to be re-thought. There are only a few basic formulas for Ads, and they just get re-used over and over and over. There this type, where they present the product and what it can do, which is usually the best kind of AD, except that apple can't do it without sounding like smug pricks.

@neekarogwa haha I have to agree...I HATE apple, they think they are the best thing since sliced bread, i wanna slap the owner of apple 7 times

the only reason this commercial would ever work is because people see a baby taking their first steps, then they see the iphone, and they relate great memories to the iphone, and completely miss the fact that the features mentioned in this commercial are available on almost every other phone...so many commercials use that its crazy

And yes, I understand that the novelty is that you can do this while still talking on the phone. Oh, you mean with speaker phone? Right, because when I'm in public I'm reallllllllly gonna want to broadcast my entire conversations to everyone while i'm surfing the web or doing whatever. The music in the background of this commercial is RIDICULOUSLY smug. I guarantee this ad brought in NO new customers, and only served to make current apple users more happy about choosing apple. ugh.

This is literally the worst apple commercial I've ever seen, and that's saying something. Wow, Video? And you can send it to others? I was able to do that on my basic verizon phone that i got for free....back in 2002. A 3 way conference call? CONFERENCE CALLS HAVE BEEN AROUND SINCE THE 80S. The only "amazing" thing about this commercial, is that it was made, and then approved by a board of directors.

@Thug541 yes, and multi-task. they watch a video while making the call. you press the home button while calling and you can talk while playing a game, or anything!
