California Healthy Pets Act AB1634 YES!

With over 840,000 pets abandoned each year in California (this is conservative, since many of the private organizations fail to report), our city and county shelters (which does not include spcas, humane societies, etc.) fill up with many more dogs and cats than there are homes. The result is overcrowded shelters and the worst kinds
of animal suffering—including the deaths of over 450,000 animals each year, many of them healthy and adoptable. Aggressive stray dogs roam through many neighborhoods, increasing the danger of dog bites and the transmission of rabies. And taxpayers spend $250 - $300 million to house abandoned cats and dogs in shelters and then sadly, euthanize (kill) the majority of these pets. It's the third highest reimbursable mandate in the state
This problem has a common sense solution... Please vote for AB 1634, the California Healthy Pets Act.

No one really needs to watch this video. It is the same MANCUSO DEATH "CLAP TRAP". Let me guess. A dog is pulled out of a cage and walked down the hall. If it turns left, it goes to a happy new home. If it turns right, it goes to the crematory. Correct? That's Mancuso's answer to everything.

You think it is acceptable that they spend their last days, frightened and miserable in a shelter? What would you offer as the solution?

This video was made for a NEVADA shelter. Doctor Death (Henderson) said this was made 4 or 5 years ago. Guess what? Dr. Henderson says "I am NOT for mandatory spay/neuter. I am for RESPONSIBLE pet ownership." OOPS! Mancuso better check her sources next time. I have the quote!! I did the interview!!

Doesn't matter where it was shot. It's a universal problem. I shoot with Doctor Henderson frequently. He spoke at the City Council meeting, pushing for mandatory spay/neuter, which passed that day. He is probably the most outspoken person I know on the subject. He said to me that no animals should be bred until every animal at the shelter has a home. He believes in responsible pet ownership. The video is just as applicable now as it was TWO years ago when I shot his interview.

In all honesty I think the real crooks are the breeders who are out there making money off pure breds and the people who adopt from them that's why shelter animals are dying crooked breeders and the people who buy them. Everytime you buy off a breeder one more of these shelter animals wil die,

I am active in dog rescue. My puppy was pulled from the shelter the day she was to be euthanized. (she's an adult dog, no one wants the adults) She was shy and sick and super thin.  Now she's a big, happy girl and I can't imagine life without her. People who let their animals breed unwantonly don't love their animals. It's like letting every teen have babies every 10 months (or teen boys getting as many girls pregnant as possible) Who would take care of those babies?

the lady says dont put animals to sleep bcoz they dont deserve it , lets just make everything to make them stop spreading , spay and castrate them so that those abandoned pets wont breed and we will keep everything in control ETC....

Why do they have to be putten down it breaks my heart :( i can take them all !!! In poland i think in warsaw there is a shelter that dont put dogs to sleep ever. ... They said they take care of them until someone adopts .. Even if they get old they dont put them down to sleep

This is the best video i have ever seen making an argument for spay and neuter, since AB 1634 is no longer i want to know if there is any copy of it without the AB 1634 info i would love to share it far on wide in my social network but am afraid people will not watch because it is a dead bill.

Educate people on dogs and behavior, so they know what dog is for them. The biggest problem is that it's not a pet population, but rather unwanted pets being abandoned. Second, from what I've seen, this won't stop backyard breeders, but more or less have them flee underground

Even pure bred dogs that are "breeding quality" in some breeds are NOT worth breeding. Eg: most pugs, bulldogs & more. These breeds are going to the gutter with the extremes people are breeding them to. It's not that any breed mix or not is "plagued with genetic issues" it's the breeders breeding dogs (pure breed or not) with BAD genetics and without health testing to rule it out. I'm for Ethical breeding not breeding just because they have a dog and it's cute (*KC reg or not) *rolls eyes*

NO on AB1634! NO NO NO! It'll get rid of pets .. and that's not right! It might help the overpopulation problem, but eventually we won't have hardly any dogs left at all .. I do not believe in laws like this, they're inhumane and invasive .. it's not right! Look up the "Irresponsible" commercial that's against AB1634. NO ALL THE WAY ON THIS BILL!

i may not be from CA but there are 2 sides to every story. there needs to be a compromise somewhere between both parties not an i'm right & you're wrong mentality. if we are truly on the animals side then lets show it. if the bill that increases vet services passes just think of how many more will end up in shelters to be killed cause greedy people couldnt figure another way to balance the budget. EVERYONE NEEDE TO WAKE UP AND SMELL WHAT THEY'RE SHOVELING!!
