Very valuable advice given by these two shaykhs which is increasingly useful in these modern times. I sincerely hope we all act upon this advice.

  • @privatezib Sk. HY knows more about Islam than either you or me. He has a reason why he doesn't want to get into debates as he has stated it in this and many other lectures. Unnecessary debates and confrontations will lead to accusations, which only ends up in bickering, back biting and slandering. You gain nothing out of it except for more sins! And it divides the ummah.

He's put forward his dawah. Others have put forward theirs, Use your brain and heart and follow what sounds right to you!

  • Thanks

  • @afthefragile This is the same thing Imam Al-Ghazali said. He said that if two people are in a dispute with no cause or objective, then nothing is gained. If you're disputing just for argumentations sake nothing is gained. It's unnecessary. It's Haram to most people to argue about religion.

  • Mashallah.

  • may allah (swt) bless and persaerve Shaykh muhammad al Yaquobi & Shaykh Hamza Yusuf

  • is hamza yusuf sufi?

  • @afthefragile . . . no! i just don't buy that. in this lecture HY makes premises based on his own personality & not deen per se. I've noticed he's very passive & hates conforontation on matters of religion! & any 1 who claims 2 follow Ahlel-Sunna-wa-Jama, & then goes on 2 say that the shia's r r8, cleraly knows nothing about the Shia belief system which is entrenched in heresy!

  • @privatezib Listen again, HY said arguing is haram for common people. He didn't say about the scholars.

Common people don't have enough knowledge to judge other's believes to argue with them.
