  • Wow, really nice guys

  • Umm, it sounds nice and it's enjoyable to listen to, but to say it's an accurate translation is ridiculous. They miss a lot of the gorgeous lyrics (they're prettier in Japanese, admittedly) and the intentional vagueness.

  • @FleetOfRetribution Happiness lies beyond the clouds Happiness lies above the sky I look up when I walk so the tears won't fall Though my heart is filled with sorrow For tonight I'm all alone Remembering those happy autumn days But tonight I'm all alone Sadness hides in the shadow of the stars Sadness lurks in the shadow of the moon I look up when I walk so the tears won't fall Though my heart is filled with sorrow For tonight I'm all alone
  • @thra5herxb12s The lyrics are something like: I look up when I walk So the tears won’t fall Remembering those happy spring days But tonight I’m all alone I look up when I walk so the tears won't fall Remembering those happy spring days But tonight I'm all alone I look up when I walk, counting the stars with tearful eyes Remembering those happy summer days But tonight I'm all alone
  • @hillsonn

Actually, it 'is' a cover of Sukiyaki. More specifically, it is a cover of "Sukiyaki" by A Taste of Honey.

"A Taste of Honey version used English-language lyrics, written by A Taste of Honey group member Janice Marie Johnson, who was given permission by the original song's copyright holders to write the English-language lyrics "

But yeah, the lyrics aren't faithful to the original but translated songs seldomn are. At any rate, this is a cover of a cover.

  • very nicely done

  • Christ! How sweet is this?

These lyrics are not even close to the original Japanese song. In fact, it is not even called 'Sukiyaki', it is called 'Ue o Muite Arukou' which means, something along the lines of Looking up as I walk.

Don't get me wrong, this is nice in its own respect, but it is a totally different song that uses the orignal's melody.

  • great job

  • Beautiful voices
