I watched this entire video, only to realize 10 seconds before the end I was smiling the whole way through... thank you Daniel Johnston, you made me smile even when I thought it was impossible, my love is gone, my friends are gone, i'm all alone and lower than ever, and you made me smile... maybe your voice isn't the best, and your too stricken to play the guitar anymore, but in times of darkness you made me smile and thats takes more talent than just being able to play an instrument...

I just saw Daniel Johnston play in Malmö, Sweden a few hours ago and you'll all be happy to know he played the guitar for the first two songs, then he came back with a guitar-duo who played for the rest of the set. So at the very least he's able to play a little bit :)

@doogdoogdoog I did a little more research on this and it turns out that he's needed the lyrics to his songs in front of him ever since a seizure he had in a hospital. That's pretty sad.
