@DanZaidan i'm sure they used 3ds max because when i warched making of 2012 i observed 3ds max interface. with realflow, maya, and nuke i agree

is well known that americans use to "prize" american cinema and all stuff before than foreign realizations even the foreign ones are superior in quality and thematic; simple national nepotism

Worst Movie ever
Great to see that German VFX companies can do remarkable stuff like that, when they get enough money to play with. It has though become kind of a speciality of scanline to do water effects. Yet, I have to admit that while in cinema watching the film I immediately thought: Those are the best digital water effects I've seen so far. Far beyond "Perfect Storm" and "Day after Tomorrow", which were done by ILM. Normally I think of ILM as VFX's top dog, but this has to make them envious as hell.
