@lampadairefrancis I dunno. Of all the new school acts to really get sonically what Chuck and PE were about, I think Portishead is it. The sound dissonance of the production segues into the "PE #1 set" is a great homage and reflection on the magic of The Bomb Squad. Between this and the "Paul's Boutique", there's 2 solid moments on the joy (and craft) behind sampling. James Brown's legacy is totally assured with it.

@bboymantyzz Because the same synth line is used in the Public Enemy song, "Public Enemy #1"---so it's like revisiting the group's history with their leader Chuck D representing them in that portion of the set.

wow - that synth line before Chuck wanders on, is the intro to Blow Your Head by Fred Wesley and the JB's - Blow Your Head indeed... how appropriate is that???? genius - here's to more please x adex [head blown clean off...]

@lampadairefrancis why ?

Beth Gibbons has horrible posture. It suits the music :D

You mean "Public Enemy no.1". "My Uzi weighs a ton" is a line from that joint. And yes, it is.
"Yo the brother don't swear he's nice, he knows he's nice"
Ya know what I'm sayin'

That's from "My Uzi Weighs a Ton" isn't it...?

this song, like most of portishead's music, makes me have a mental orgasm. but when chuck came on stage, brain-cum came shooting out of my eyes. and now i need to clean my computer :<
