Summary:
Demi idolizes her older sister and after Dallas disappears Demi is crushed. When she gets a letter from Dallas, she is sent on a wild goose chase for her sister. Little does she know, Joe, Dallas’ ex-boyfriend has gotten the same letter. Demi blames Joe for Dallas’ disappearance but in order to find Dallas they have to put aside their differences and help each other find where Dallas has hidden their next clue.

“Demi, I’m going to tell you something and it’s important so listen up!” Dallas told me.
“What is it?” I asked excitedly, everything about Dallas’ life was exciting. Even at 16 years old I couldn’t help but want to follow her around like a puppy and watch her live her interesting life. Mine was so dull in comparison.
“Never fall in love, it makes you do stupid things!” Dallas said.
“But you love Joe and he loves you! What’s so wrong with that?” I asked puzzled. I had never been in love and didn’t understand why she found it frustrating to have a boyfriend. Everyone thought her and Joe were a match made in heaven. Personally I didn’t like him, he was hot and he knew it, arrogant, sarcastic, and adventurous to the point of getting killed. He loved to annoy me, so I normally disappeared when Joe came over to see Dallas.
“I’m sick of Joe, he’s too perfect. Everything he does is just… I don’t know, but I’m going to end it!” Dallas announced.
I wasn’t sure what to say, I was happy she was breaking up with Joe but I had no idea where she got the idea he was perfect! I could laugh but I don’t want to hurt her feelings. “When are you going to break up with him,” I ended up saying.
Dallas looked thoughtful for a moment then smiled widely, “Tonight! Ahh, I feel freer already.”
At the time I laughed and told her to get out, I should told her to stay. After she left the house to go break the news to Joe, I waited up for her in her room. I wanted to hear every detail of the break up. What can I say I lived through Dallas. She never came home.
The next day, I got the letter. I walked down stairs rubbing the sleep from my eyes to see my parents sitting down at the kitchen table. “We got a letter from Dallas, she says not to worry, that she is off discovering the world.” My mom said through clenched teeth. “There’s a letter for you too.”
“What are you going to do?” I whispered.
“Demi as much as we want to bring her home right now and ground her for a year, she is eighteen now and she can go off on her own. We just never expected it to e like this!” my dad said quietly.
I opened my mouth in shock, “How can you say that, we have to bring her back!”
“Demi, it’s her choice, she’ll come back.” My dad replied calmly. I grabbed my letter and stormed up to my room and threw myself down on my bed.
“How could you leave me here!?” I shouted into my pillow as though Dallas could hear me. I angrily opened the letter from Dallas.
Dear Demi,
I know that you are royally pissed right now and you have good reason to be. It was never my plan to just leave without telling you but after breaking up with Joe, I couldn’t help but want to go find an adventure! I love you so much little sister but I think have let you live through me too much! It’s time for you to find your own life, without me. I promise I will come home when I’m done finding myself. While I’m gone I will miss you so much but there is a way we can see each other soon. I want you to find me. Don’t look so shocked, Demi! It’s a game a riddle of sorts and you know how much I love games. I am going to write you a letter about a place and then you have to find it and there waiting for you will be the next hint to find me . It’s time for you to break out of your shell, who knows maybe you will find yourself and you can count on the fact you will discover things you never knew. Don’t be so quick to judge. Be at the airport by 2!
xoxo Dallas

What the hell, I thought, Dallas has lost her mind.
“We think you should go, honey!” They said.
“What? How do you know?” I shouted.
“Dallas wrote us and we agree you need to find your own way, we all see how you live through her!”
“That’s not true,” I protested.
And that’s how I am sitting in my seat on the plane waiting for the rest of people to board clutching Dallas’ letter. I was sating out the window, when I felt a tap on my shoulder. “Hey, I’m Joe…” I turned to face Joe, my sister’s ex.
“What the hell are you doing here?” I said angrily.
“I could ask you the same question,” Joe smirked.
