The fact that there are so many 81 jerseys in the crowd, and that the applause went on as long as it did, gives me hope for this world.
That man was never flashy. He never boasted. He never made himself bigger than the game. He just went out and did his job. He got you the catch you needed; he got you the yardage you needed. Humble the entire way. A true role model.

I will forever remember this day in Canton. I cheered so long and so hard I nearly passed out. I cheered for Art Monk the player, and the man he was, and is today, in the Washington metro area. My Redskin fandom is being tested these days (read the Detroit loss), but days like this in Canton and the Redskin glory years will forever remind me of friends, family and home. Thank you Art. Thank you.

What happened to the Receiver position? How did so many of these guys become divas. Hopefully the next generation see's the type of respect Art Monk commands by saying almost nothing. I mean they're off to a good start with Calvin Johnson but at the same time they're right back to square one with Crabtree and his "me me me" antics.
