Thank you, Cayberzero. Though she has not been hand fed nor raised, she has learned to tolerate humans and easily shares our "human quarters" -- our living room (sunroom) and dining room (see, e.g., "Serinus Mozambicus: The Good Life" on my channel).

Wow formidable! Does she fly around the house?

@saxygurl8: Both our birds are let free daily from 9 to 5 in a SINGLE room of the house (either the sunroom OR the dining room). See, e.g., "Serinus Mozambicus: The Good Life" (on my channel).

You are doing a great job. I think the secret is spending the time & having a lot of patience--then you will be rewarded with a sweet bird friend. Just a word of caution: Human saliva contains microbes which can be fatal to birds. Contact with your mouth and/or saliva should be strictly prohibited. No intention to critisize--only passing on information to protect your bird's health, Keep up the good work,.

Thank you for your kind comments and your concern, 11sweetdixie. We have discussed these matters with specialized vets and are aware of the issues. No harm ensues when it is done correctly. Our 2 birds have been kissed profusely for well over 5 years: they are, and have always been, in top shape and outstanding health (not our mere assessment but according to their avian vet). For some SERIOUS kissing action, see "The Cutest Budgie Li'l Babi" (on my channel). LOL!

We used to do the same things with your canary Tweety. He was just sooo cute. He even rested to take a nap on our shoulder or even our hand if we didn't move. This kind of bird has 100% confidence!!!! just soo cute.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, simoom37: Note that this type of bird is a lot smaller and skittish than a canary (Biquette only weighs 10 grams! A canary can easily weigh 22-25 grams.)
