Israeli railway causes political row - 11 Dec 08

The construction of a new railway to link Jerusalem with illegal Israeli settlements has provoked criticism.

The tram system is being built by French engineering companies on occupied Palestinian land. Critics say their involvement in the project contravenes European policy.

Al Jazeera's Jackie Rowland reports from Jerusalem.

This video is just pure propaganda and it is full of denial about how the trains will benefit all the citizens of Jerusalem.

As for the Geneva convention reference, it is not against any such convention - that is a fabricated lie.

As for Arabs not using the train once it is built, we will see. Since Arabs use shopping malls in Israel, even ones which are not anywhere near their neighborhoods, this is a doubtful prognostication here. We will see who uses the trains.

@Tareq88 Those forecasts have been made for YEARS and YEARS, and the Jews are still the majority. Not all of the Palestinians who live in Israel are citizens, and therefore cannot vote. It doesn't do you much good being a majority(if it ever comes to it) if your government doesn't recognize you as a citizen. Hahaha.

Once the Palestinian state is created, Israel will more likely than not remove its Palestinian population to their new state. That way, both sides will be ethnically clean.

I think It is very good idea to built tram system to the city. They are space effective, environmentally friendly. They will encourage people to use public transport. I create cities much more human and nice. I also hope trams can help Israeli and Palestinian people to be friends together.
