Well, I shot the video at night in my room, with my ceiling fluorescent light switched on.
Cheap LCD screens always have a problem of poor viewing angles, especially when viewed from below. You can see that when people review the cheaper notebooks. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that the Eee Note's display is a LCD screen as well.
Anyway, I've uploaded a new video with a Sony Reader for comparison, so you can see the difference in the screen's reaction to lighting.

It seems like you put it in full darkness? Not in small piece of light, is that true?

Full darkness? nope, you can see the floor of my room is properly lit by my ceiling light.
