Stop fixing your PC and get a Mac mini. Greatest desktop ever made. I don't remember the last time I had to run any kind of up date. Chances are if you are on a PC you ran one today.

Just got a gift, A PC. So I'm using windows 7 and I can't stand the fact that I can't play DVDs with a 1 single app, there are like 4 apps on my PC that play DVDs from windows media player to interactual player to VLC and windows media center but when I uninstalled interactual and I put in a DVD (that I made myself) windows tells me I don't have permissions to play it. I'm sure glad I have a Mac that has 1 standard DVD player and It plays everything I tried so far. I hate windows PCs.

Btw, exactly the same thing happens on Windows XP if the graphics card has not been "set" to play video on both screens... I can slide the WMP window from one screen to another and exactly the same will happen! Just means I haven't set it up correctly. With the correct tweaks I can eirther swap (DVD/Video playing) displays or set it to play on both.
I meant to post a comment awhile back but the problem (for me at least) was corrected when I switched to the Win 7 RC. They might have changed something or could have been a bug. I'm really not sure, but in the Win 7 RC and Win 7 Retail versions the problem no longer occurs (again, at least not for me)

This may seem like a stupid question but did you enable video playing on the "second" device (DVI (or VGA))? As far as I know your graphics card will only default to playing on one screen (usually device 1) unless you change the settings to play on both (it cuts overheads), My graphics card for example, will not play on VGA AND/or TV unless I've set it up specifically to do so in my graphics card's settings!

I haven't changed any settings on my videocard the whole time. XP, Win 7 RC, and Win 7 Retail version I had no problems. I only had a problem with Win 7 Beta. Idk why that is the case. Anyway, I would like to know where to find the setting you are talking about. Thanks!

What program are you using for the screen capture????
hansfase 2 years ago
It has been awhile since I used the screen capture program. I don't have a copy of it now due to upgrading from Win 7 Beta to Win 7 RC to Win 7 Retail version, but I think the program I used was called Super Screen Capture (might have been free or a free trial, but I can't remember). Youtube blocks links in the comments so I put a link in the video description details section (at the bottom).
