I mean I definitely think Buffy cared deeply about Spike - I just never really saw it as love, personally.

When asked if Buffy meant her 'I love you' to Spike in the final episode, Joss Whedon said that she did mean it. If the CREATOR of the Buffyverse says it is so, then it must be.

@SyntheticSympathy just because the creator says something after the show's done doesn't mean we have to take it as canon. my interpretation of the characters is based on what happens on the show and on the show alone, not on what Whedon says in interviews.

Love this song. It's true. I love Women. They are Gods Greatest Creations. But they tend to play Wicked Games. Crawl inside our heads to where we dont know what to do. Nobody is perfect we all know that, everybody makes mistakes.Im not defending all men cause lets face it most guys are dicks but women seem to stay or go back with them.

This song sets a perfect tone on relationships.

@blatterations I think she loved him, she just struggled with it. I also think if the what the creator says isn't canon, what is? Duh, of course it's canon! Let's look at the show, how many times during s7 did she defend spike, save him, and tell him she believes in him. Something she never did before. She loved him alright. A lot of ppl don't accept Spuffy because of Bangel, but Spike loved her even w/out a soul, Angel didn't.
