  • how did you learn to walk? it sounds like a silly question but i broke both my tib and fib about 3 weeks ago and now have metal rods and pins in my leg. The doctor has said i can start walking if i feel up to it but i am really nervous to walk again!

  • @BubsieLove181 It is scary at first, I learned very slow, with a walker, just putting a little weight on the broken leg each day, until i worked up to walking with a cane. It helped me to put my broken leg on a scale, and press down to see how much weight i could put on it before it hurt, to track my progress. but honestly its what you can handle, just a little more weight each day, but i remember how scared i was to take a step without aid, i started crying, its very scary but you can do it!

  • wow you walk perfectly normal, i hope can walk as normal as you too after i broke my tibia and fibula too

  • @spideybeauty Thank you!, I need to make another update video this week, maybe tomorrow, I walk completely normal now, in this video i was still in pain walking, mainly in my shin, now I can run 3-4 miles on a treadmill and walk with no pain, and I still have my hardware in! keep at it! It DOES get easier, it's just very discouraging when you start walking again.

  • @AlisonRich Thanks Allson and appreciate that, I am now walking with a cane and still limping if no cane, It's nice to know there's still a possibility for me to walk normally as you walk perfectly and beautifully. did it come naturally or do you do any special exercise

  • @spideybeauty It did NOT come naturally, when i was given the ok to walk, after trying i felt like giving up, its not like riding a bike, you do forget, i spent a lot of time watching my in law's and my husband walk, heel toe, heel toe. I do have a pre walking exercise video too if you didnt see that one. It took 4 months to learn to walk without a limp, stairs were the hardest i had to improvise for awhile, it was more of a step, then hop til I could get more ROM, dont give up!, good luck!
