This is a video that was produced by my friend and co-worker at the Salvation Army, Denise (McCarthy) Langille. This video is based on a poem that Valerie wrote in College and set to music by Anne (Langille) Rich, another friend and co-worker.
This video is the basis of another video that I made. Because this video is far superior than the one I produced, I am happy to include it here.

Lyrics:

I was not born of great designs.
Of gently breeding, or noble lines;
I was not fashioned with a hand
That knew I'd strive to change a land;
I was not made to rule a world,
Or lead an army under banners furled;
I was not meant to be a preacher,
A famous doctor, or a teacher;
I was not raised to save a nation
From untimely annihilation;
I was not give talent to start
To write a book or create art;
But outweighing all this on life's balance piled,
I have the privilege of being God's own child.
