Thousands have gathered Wednesday morning (08.04.09) outside Lubavitch World Headquarters 770 in Brooklyn, NY, to take part in the rare Mitzvah of Birchas Hachama, recited once in 28 years. Men, women and children stood on Eastern Parkway, as Rabbi Shmuel Butman led the ceremony

  • I disagree. It's a beautiful tradition upheld throughout the ages. It was an experience of unity and joy, where thousands of people gathered together in service to the Creator.

    How can you call that primitive?

  • Being there last year, so soon after my bas mitzvah, was an experience that touched me to the innermost depths of my soul. I wish I could have prolonged the experience. In just 27 more years until the next time.
