Sure join a UU church they're free from irrational hatreds! PSYCHOLOGISTS are often UU's! They believe in "oppositional defiance disorder." Right, that means in 1854 slaves who rebelled were "mentally ill," see shitty psychiatrist Samuel Cartwright on "drapetomania!" If UU were serious about being on "free & responsible search for truth & meaning" (they are sure NOT) they'd eject everyone who calls themselves "mental health professionals" (modern term for INQUISITORS and WITCH FINDERS!!)

I think I want to join a unitarian universalist church. I think I could grow a bit. Right now I hold a bitterness towards Christians. I don't like that fact about myself.

I grew up and got married in that church! Corner of Astor & Ogden in Milwaukee!

Is this the Oakland church? I'm curious...it looks like it.

Of course we all have the RIGHT to choose our own spiritual path, but just because we are sincere in our beliefs does not make them true.

@michalchik We have to remember that, like any religion, there will always be those who do not fully grasp or know how to implement these moral teachings into their life. To those people, we can only offer patience and understanding that they are still searching and will always improve themselves. We're all learning at our own pace. Some people can't pick up such concepts as easily as others.

@GrowTheTruth Again, that is a position I can respect. For the most part i don't wish these people ill, though some of them do require a rude awakening in my opinion. I do believe that all men are my brothers, I just occasionally think tough love is appropriate and even my brother i will fight if he is engaged in injustice.
Perhaps I am more aggressive about this because I am a scientist and educator and these people are actively attacking the truth. That really bothers me.
lol "eat coffee" so does unitarian universalism make more sense to you then other religions? cuz im agnostic with a heavy christain backround and i decided to go on a serach for "truth and real meaning in life and religion" and ironiclly i found this and it made so must sense to me but i was wondering if you were in this belief your whole life and how do you feel towards it? :3

@sexhaie UU is cool because it welcomes all denominations. I was raised UU and when I got older I got into Buddhism and Taoism. I like to explain UU as being a place to be religiously social without the religion. :) So UU doesn't really have a belief system other than being nice to people. ;)
