Onion Ice Cream: A Taste Test

Herein Lizz and her ever-intrepid culinary co-creator Coach Dorman attempt the seemingly impossible---to create a dinner featuring, as inspiration and centerpiece, a scoop of onion ice cream. If anyone can succeed at such a feat, it is this duo, inventors of such previous masterpieces as Chocolate Chicken with Curry Couscous and Purple Sea Worm Pie. Unfortunately, and for the first time in the long history of this partnership, things go pretty horribly awry.

Sorry, I know this video was a bit choppy. But I'm presuming people would rather watch the choppy shortened version than thirty minutes of smooth footage with all sorts of pauses and ums. If I'd had more patience, I would have extracted the audio once I'd cut out the pauses and then put smooth video clips to accompany the choppier parts. But after about ten hours of editing for a four minute video, I draw the line. Maybe next time!

oooohhh.... she's not even using sweet onions, but red ones! harsh. Hey, that chef needs one of those slap choppers! I got the larger (better) generic version from WalMart.

I will never eat onion ice cream! but eating onions only for a while will get rid of parasites. They say 1 in 3 americans has them. Maybe more.

I have a great recipe for onion ice cream. I've been serving it in restaurants for years. The secret is to use Sweet onions such as vidalia's. Let me know if you need a recipe.
