This was written for the piano, of course. But as I don't have one ...
Apparently, this piece inspired Barry Manilow to write "Could it be Magic".
The stops I use are:
Swell: Salizional 16', Weidenpfeife 8', Vox coelestis 8', Gedackt 8'
Great: Prinzipal 8', Rohrlöte 8', Gambe 8' (manuals coupled, box open)
Pedal: Prinzipalbass 32', Subbass 16', Zartbass 16' (both pedal couplers)

  • After listening to many piano versions of this piece, I can't imagine any that are better than this one on the organ. Nice performance Matthias!!!

  • So cool! Louder!

  • can you send me the music sheet???

  • beautiful, more chopin on the organ please

  • I couldn´t imagine this played on an organ - but I really don´t agree with what you said yesterday - it is NOT better on the piano. It is different on the organ, but equally beautiful. Yes, perfectly for a funeral, I think. Much dignity, a hint of sadness, but also calming and soothing. Would be a a very helpful piece of music. Wonderful work. Thanks for posting it.
