This short film was produced by myself in 2005 as a response to an HSC English assessment task in which students must represent in a visual form a piece of literature, in this case, a piece of poetry by Deb Westbury entitled "Persistence of Memory". This poem features a woman in labour who relates the pain experienced during childbirth to her unpleasant memories of war.
I used my own footage, that obtained from an online archive of wartime footage, and numerous other images and snippets obtained from various sources, to represent this relationship.
This film was produced on an Apple PowerMac G3 using Apple iMovie and FinalCut Express under MacOS 10.3.6, with footage being filmed using a Sony Digital-8 Handycam.
The musical score throughout the film and credits consists of "Memory" from the Andrew Lloyd-Webber production "Cats", sung by Sarah Brightman, and "We'll Meet Again", by Vera Lynne.
I figure I have nothing to lose by making this public, so here it is... I hope it is enjoyed. :)

Kieran

Hi, nice work.
I'm curious to know what mark you received and if you'd be able to post up your reflection statement?

Hey thanks.... to be honest I cannot remember what the mark was I got for it. It was in the high echelons I recall but couldnt give an exact figure... as for the reflection statement, don't have it on hand anywhere but I can assure you it was downright bollocks hehehe! ;)
