OVERLORD (a.k.a Supremacy) Theme for the Commodore 64

Overlord (also known as "Supremacy" in Europe) was an early Real Time Strategy game, originally created for the Amiga computer, but then ported to the Atari ST, PC compatibles, and the Commodore 64.

I have played the Amiga, PC, and Commodore 64 versions of the game, and the Commodore 64 version is my favourite by far. For this version, Jeroen Tel took the original plodding theme used in the other versions and expanded it with an upbeat tempo, and basically rocked out with it! It is one of my favourite video game tunes of all time (May Bobby Prince forgive me.),. Since there is now a discussion on the Chex Quest Fan Forums about the best game tunes, I decided to make a recording and post it so that everyone else will know what I am talking about.

The Box scan and screen shots were taken from Moby Games. At present I am unable to take screen shots from my Commodore 64. Sorry.

Anyway, sit back and enjoy one of the best SID tunes ever created, and don't forget ... Wotok has no brain.

Being the composer of this tune, I can tell you it should be played @ 50 herz PAL instread of 60 herz NTSC... ;-)

Was so much better on the Amiga, where it was called Supremacy, the music for the Amiga version remains to this day one of my all time favourite game soundtracks.

Supremacy is the European name of the game. In North America all versions are called Overlord.

@BoingotheClown Never understood why do Americans love making up new titles, like in the case of "Another World" when they renamed it to "Out of this World" :) Anyway Supremacy is awesome, too bad I suck at strategy games :D

@freejaytea I think it's one of those tunes (Skate Or Die and Cybernoid being others) that sound good in 50 or 60 Hz, even if it sounds a bit different.

One of the best game music ever created. Add an ZX's "Overlander" and "Silkworm" to it and you've almost heard it all. Absolutely marvellous.
