My "contact" was the security guard I befriended in 1977, and I call him a few times every year to stay in touch, but the woman in question didn't know that, and she threatened me by invoking "Japanese interests" against me.

I sympathize with your situation. Years ago, I sold a valuable Star Wars poster on eBay. The buyer provided an address 3 blocks from my residence -- it happened to be a mail drop. After much friendly banter, and my trying to collect funds owed, I both told the buyer I had a second poster 0f the exact same printing, and gave her my phone number too, for which she asked I provide, which I did. She became argumentative, and demanded I hand deliver the poster, and accept her Paypal remittance
