He was one of the 4 famous professors (with Goldenweiser, Feinberg, Neuhaus) of Moscow Conservatoire that connected pre- and post-revolutionary Russian pianism.
Oborin, Filer and many others (I think above 100) were Igumnov's pupils, all they adore and respected their great maitre very much.
