TEDxAustin - Jason Roberts

How can we drive change in our communities and move past stagnant committees and outdated regulation? In this funny, smart, energetic and breathless talk, arts activist Jason Roberts of Build a Better Block encourages us to stop waiting around. Even if that means painting in our own crosswalks and blackmailing ourselves into action.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. Wow! I really need to figure out how to duplicate this in my downtown! I'm so tired of battling to try and bring community into downtown, not the big beer parties once a month that the city thinks will save the area, but things which will bring the community back downtown. Really well done Jason!
