wish i was that horse

can you ride me like your riding that horse
-
Beautiful country !
Where is it ?

There are clearly not enough good instructors commenting on YouTube. But Horses are for riding, not selling. A race car driver knows more about driving cars than the guy who knows how to get them sold. People rode horses for centuries before the advent of saddles. No one should be trying to learn anything about equestrian from the internet other than how to set a fracture.

@russellcroew; To paraphrase a Bible verse, "Show me your horse without your saddle and I'll show you my horse under my saddle."
The point is, it's good to be one with the horse and ride bareback, but it's better advertisement to show the horse under saddle. A great horse can spook at a saddle if it's always been ridden bareback.
Bareback has it's place, but so do saddles. And even saddles with padding. No point in riding sore when you can afford the extra. ;)

@russellcroew; I disagree. She isnt getting her heels down enough b/c her stirrups are too short. It has nothing to do with her saddle, it has to do with how the saddle is adjusted. Of course the goal is to be one with the horse, but saddles are invented for a reason. You can train your horse to go bareback all you like and thats great, but especially for a selling video the viewers need to know the horse can be saddled.

Way to be late to a party. But a good rule is to never be the first one to arrive and never be the last to leave. Another rule I have is ride the horse, not the padding. She cant get her heels down as there is a matress between her and the horse. Feels great but you will never get your seat that way. But everyone has different goals in equestrian. Mine is to be one with the horse. "Riding is all nuts and bolts. If the rider is nuts...the horse bolts."

@russellcroew; what makes you think she needs to work on her balance?? She's a great rider! I can tell he has a short stride canter and yet she's still staying quiet in the saddle. She's very apparently a strong, seasoned rider.
Rider: As a riding instructor the only thing I would point out is keeping your heels down over all more, as a fellow rider I know that when we get solid in our background and are day to day training horses things like keeping the calf muscle stretched out can get slack.

So pretty! :D Lovely gelding.
-
Nice-looking little gelding- beautiful colour-and the dorsal stripe certainly is unusual and distinctive - do y'all ever come across a blue roan ( preferably a gelding, and at least 15.0 to 15.3) or a grulla dun? I've been looking for one for my 15-year-old daughter- she's got a good seat and a light hand, doesn't vault on a horse & kick hell out of it and race around like a scalded cat, (THANK GOD-) and she really knows how to get along with one-treats them RIGHT- Thanks-
Enough padding on that saddle....ride it bareback...you'll get your seat and your balance quicker!!!!!

I rode bareback since I was 13, my overall refinement can use work but , I haven't met the horse that can rival my "balance".
