Eastern Box Turtles are becomming uncommon.
They are some of the more colorful and different
of the Box Turtle species. Best of all...they do not bite. This is Woody a 36 ish year old box turtle.
I have had him for 22 years of his life. The other 2 got really sick and passed away .

  • @cobrman16 no gives a rats ass nigga you heard

  • @DICKINYOMOUTH1 , Why bother posting mean comments like that. Judging by your user name, you are one of those bully types that prey on those who seem weak. LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING SCUMBAG. 1) Learn to spell and construct readable sentences. 2) Don't poke fun at those who have lost a beloved pet. 3) You have some serious soul searching to do buddy and perhaps some growing up to do. 4) DO NOT USE RACIST REMARKS,Especially the "N" word. I will see you are blocked from youtube if you continue.

  • Just wondering how you know the age of your turtle...did you have him for most of his life? Do you know how to tell? I'm Curious to know how old mine is

  • @radvibes ,Yeah, you can say that. I had him since I was 12. I'm 37 now.

He was full sized when he was found on the road. We took him to the vet.

Vet said he was 11 or 12.(Back then) So he's as old as me !! LOL

They can live to be 50 to 150. I think it may be like a tree. Count the rings on one of the larger plates that make up the shell to get the age.

  • Beautiful male turtle! I have a female I just found. She was about to cross a busy street & we Love her. We named her Shanaynay Bubble-Lulu. I am thinking of breeding her but don't know much about it yet.

  • @radvibes ,thanks. Good luck with your turtle. I don't know much about that either.

  • awww i love this turt

  • @Gorgo Sorry for your loss, he looked like a happy turtle. Their lifespan is generally 40-50 years with some recorded to be 110+ in the wild. It is almost impossible to gauge the exact age unless cataloged at birth. Growth is unpredictable and can vary from year to year, but as a general rule they grow the fastest during the first few years then start to slow down gradually after that.

I have an Eastern male that is similar on my channel, he is around 7 years and his name is Toby.

  • cool turtle, how much are they?
