  • It has about 15 pounds of worms in it now a year later. They eat over 10 lbs. of my leftover veg. peels, etc. each week.

  • Maybe because it's not an ideal design. I've known similar ones to collapse because the weight can no longer be supported by the base. Normally garbage sits on the bottom and basically the floor takes the weight. With this design, the weight sits on the bars and has to be supported by the cut out portion of the bin. This can easily collapse under the weight. You need something that carries the weight from the bars to the ground, any sort of frame.
