Brian Haw stood alone for years as a peace campaigner outside Parliament. Here he is joined during a late winter of war discontent by new arrivals at the square.

Parliament Square, London in May 2010. Not much different from Tahrir Square, Cairo in Feb 2011.

Although for different reasons, the spirit is the same.

This is what happens during one hour in the life of a peace camp -- life moves slowly in a peace camp. Contains images and Brian Haw interview.

  • Hey "protesters" get a job!! The moment you start contributing to our society, the moment I will listen to your views!!

  • @6XMachine Your are saying the same thing that red necks said in the US about peaceniks who protested against the Vietnam War?

  • Brian Haw, has been doing this for years and this bunch of jokers dilute and hi-jack his protest. Luckily they haven't got him evicted. They have just trashed one of our green spaces, used it as a toilet and basically just slacked around for a few weeks achieving nothing. It makes me laugh with the shots of the CCTV cameras, trying to act like they are being persecuted, when in reality all i have ever seen is a couple of bored policeman keeping an eye on things.

  • @fabian2029 Live and let live. We are not going to get all fascists with another peace camp are we? The peace camp is not the problem. The problem is the war.

  • One of the best films of Democracy Village. Very moving

  • @oldchunkythighs Thanks. Much appreciated. Spread the word. I don't mind.

  • @bmwnasher You missed the point this lot got away with this . Green peace went into BP garages and dismantled isolator switches no arrest .Muslims carry racial hatred banners no arrest

  • @bmwnasher Maybe you should start protesting that dropping a cigarette on the floor is nothing compared to dropping a bomb somewhere in the world.

  • You protestors make me puke! Brian Haw is the only genuine protestor there, and good luck to him and his aims. The rest of you are just lazy scum with no interest in anyone other than yourselves. You have ruined Parliament square, still closed to the public after weeks wgile the council clears up your shit! Yeh, and guess who'll be paying for that, yeh, us Londoners. You are just a bunch of lazy bastards. GET A FUCKING JOB AND PUT SOMETHING BACK INTO THIS COUNTRY INSTEAD OF SHITTING ON IT!
