  • Hmm, I'm definitely very loud naturally haha. And like you said, it affects my pitching from time to time and in the beginning it really caused me a lot of strain. I'm probably an alto(?), or at least I think I sounds best from middle C to Bb, and then B to E in head voice. But I'll forever sound like I'm singing a lower register because my voice is sort of husky/stuffy sounding naturally. I guess I do like my voice type lol. Though if I had to nitpick, I'd want a better range.

  • "if you don't use it you will lose it" xD and it's nice to hear that you (as you said in your Voice Training: "Riffs, Runs, & Control - Part 1" video) and the girl in the left love mariah carey because she is a great technician. and if i wanted to be a singer, it would be because of her.

  • Hey eric, i feel comfortable singing between G below middle C and the B flat one octave above middle C (i'm bad at describing notes LOL). I still fail using my mixed voice. so i usually crack after the C note... or my voice just get less pleasant... so after that just falsetto.

  • Hey Eric. I don't know how to find out what voice type I am. I know where I am comfortable singing, and about where I go into my mixed voice, but I don't know what octave it is. I know where it is on my guitar, but I don't know the octave "Number" That it would be. How can I figure that out? and what octave is what voice type?

  • I have a long range from baritone to tenor to falsetto...and I practice doing that in some songs enough so that you don't hear that happening, If I can't do it smoothly I'll keep in a range I'm comfortable but not afraid to give it a little edge, if you know what I mean.

  • I think I might have and 4 octave range plus like mike!

  • I'm a baritone and I love it cuz it´s awesome to sing villain parts on musicals and stuff..., also I think it has a very cool, mighty thunder kind of sound

  • You guys should definitely release the full version of "Why I Sing" on iTunes ^__^

  • i like that he pronounced timbre correctly. my arts & humanities teacher insisted it was 'timber' like wood....and i tried to tell her and the whole class it wasn't ;-; now everyone but me in my class will go the rest of their lives mispronouncing it and being made fun of by people who know otherwise. xD

  • A good way to move beyond the basics of improvisation is to learn your modes and use pitch axis to try out each flavour. Then learn to be comfortable singing harmony notes outside 1, 3, & 5. Once you're comfortable with these aspects, things get really interesting when you start playing with the melodic minor harmonies.
