@imcdonald wtf makes you think it's about recovery? nothing about it sounds like recovery or improvement. it sounds like it's going on about staying the course of steady decay. the very dog of man, something for marooned orphans and bastards. and in the final song, extinction is achieved. the victorians may have reveled in their neoclasical motifs of stylized ruins but all ruins--no matter how chic--were once the abodes of living societies, now gone for eternity. a playgorund for new infants
