A brief look at the Yamaha PSR-E403 for those of you thinking of buying a keyboard for Christmas. Most of what is shown also applies to the updated E413 and previous PSR-295 models. This part looks at some voices and use of the synth control knobs. Excuse my video editing. Songs -
3:43 Fur Elise. 4:02 The Entertainer. 4:21 Lambada. 4:38 Last of the Summer Wine. 4:51 Gymnopedie No 1. 5:03 Bitter Sweet Symphony. 5:37 Infinity. 6:01 A Swinging Safari

  • how can i connect this keyboard to mixcraft 5 to use mixcraft 5 sounds instead of my yamaha psre403 sounds?

  • @elgoose2003 I'm not familar with this software, however if it handles midi devices then it should see the keyboard as a midi input when the 403 is connected to the PC via the USB cable and the program should then read the midi note data when you press a key and play it's own sound

  • No I'm not gonna download anything on the keyboard I'm gonna use the keyboard on the computer like a MIDI controller to record music on any musical software

    Can I do that?

  • @princeicio Yes, but you may be better off with a dedicated midi controller especially if you can get one with 88keys for the same price as a used E403

  • @keithy501 I'm sorry too much talking simply Can I use the keyboard ypg-235 to record music on computer?

  • @keithy501 You mean to transfer sounds, tones, styles bla bla etc. into a memory of the keyboard?

what if I'm going to use the keyboard on a software like reason sonar or cubase do I need a good internal memory on the keyboard to play some different sounds on the keyboard running on a software record some music with different voices?

  • @princeicio Style is the background music as you play the melody (that is the drums, bass, chords). Midi is a form of communication between instruments or computers and instruments which send details of note pitch, duration, loudness, type of instrument etc as a series of a string of numbers along a cable. A standard set of commands and numbers is used to represent the musical information. The midi file just consists of this data and can be decoded, played back as a song by a midi enabled device

  • @keithy501 Excuse me what is styles & Midi files? sorry I don't know too much about that..

  • @princeicio If you're going to play piano type pieces more, go for 76 keys. Larger memory only useful when transfering new styles or if you want to play midi files
