John mccain made a deal with mitt romney today could be for vise president.
I am a conservative I like the idea of john mccain as president b/c I believe he will be strong on national defence, on reducing the national debt, on cutting taxes, ending pork barral spending(earmarks), but if he has chosen mitt romney as his vp I cannot vote in these election. I believe I speak for alot of people in GA because we had a choice and we choose mike huckabee first and John Mccain second, and Mitt Romney did not have a chance in the south. Mitt Romney is not a conservative he is an opportunist. He will be anything given the right opportunity. We want the FAIRTAX (tax reform) and Mike Huckabee is the only one that knows how to sell it.

That is my whole point he has compromised on a liberal heathcare bill, and honestly I don't know where he compromise. He pretty much gave the democrates the whole farm on that one. It's mandated where everybody has to pay and if you don't pay their is penalties and fees. The projected cost in 2009 is up 85% or $400million in a over blown state budget of $28billion. In comparison in Ga the state budget is $16billion with pop 9,363,941/ mass. population is 6,427,137.

Making everyone pay for their own health care coverage is a very conservative position.

The state government expanded the government subsidies AFTER Romney left. Romney had the budget balanced while he was there.

Romney did not go back and forth. He simply changed his mind once. As far as his health care plan having to be negotiated with a Democrat legislation, it would have some areas that would be disagreeable. This is why politics is by definition the science of compromise. As far as denouncing Reagan, I am certain we all denounce different stands others take on issues while still accepting him as the leader of conservative principles.

Yes, Ronald Reagan compromised with the democrates. With the big bills he compromised conservative bills with a conservative adgenda. Mitt Romney did not have a conservative adgenda while governor. Please prove me wrong. Show me what bills he sponsor that edify the conservative movement, b/c I cannot find any.
