I saw this show in Rifle , Colorado 7/9/11 with my family, and this was the highlight of the show! My kids loved it, a master pilot with experience flying L-19 bird dogs in Viet Nam as F.A.C. Much respect to you sir for your bravery and service.

Well you can go bigger. Sukhoi made a SU-26M3 in 2003 with a Vedeneyev M-9F engine putting out 430hp, or even bigger the Vedeneyev M-14R with 450hp. This Su-26 probably has a Vedeneyev M-14P with 360hp.

Don Nelson knows this Sukhoi 26 inside and out and he uses up A LOT of vertical airspace! The Sukhoi 26 is the classic first edition of the revolutionary line of unlimited aerobatic airplanes. Dons takeoffs are always something special and his inverted landing approach is so nicely executed that it seems entirely natural. The growl of the backwards spinning radial engine reminds me of a WW2 Bearcat. The biggest possible engine in the smallest possible aircraft!
