Sen. Claire McCaskill - who has been holding more civil health care town halls as of late - tells Bill O'Reilly that it isn't easy to hear out frustrated protesters against President Obama's health care plan at town hall meetings. "I don't think rude is particulary persuasive," she says. "But at the end of the day, it's my job to listen, and I'm glad to have this job."

When asked if she's "disappointed" at how Obama presented the plan, McCaskill says the bill has to grow "organically," saying: "there's a reason why they compare lawkaing to sausage making." To which O'Reilly bluntly says, "I don't know what he's talking about." He tells the Senator that he has to turn a 650-page bill into a five-page bill. O'Reilly also thinks because it is such a large bill, there will be "government intrusion."

  • This dumb broad just didn't get it. When both parties went to the polls OVER 75% of us in the state of Mo said we wanted to admend our State Const because of Obama care...and this stupid idiot went to Washingtom and voted yes.

..and she cant understand the anger? Forget Rep or Dem, this just shows why Washington is so out of touch and it is going to haunt them very soon.

  • @bleunt It would probably be more efficient

  • For the 20 years after age 65 (When we all get sick) the government covers healthcare and it is going broke, but for the 40 year before age 65 (When we don't go to the doctor) we and our employers give money to insurance companies. This money should be set aside for when you get old! The insurance companies had to have laughed all the way to the bank when Medicare came in. They get to keep the money and foist the sick people on the tax payer! This is nonsense!

  • Fedup, with FOX..

  • @lakeeriejew Yeah. So it's cheaper. And did the USPS get an eight billion bailout? Because I've missed that. But if that's the case, would you say that private companies are immune to needing to take bailouts?

  • @bleunt

More efficient, profitable and cheaper. If the USPS charges less than UPS on some services but it's operating at a loss that will require 8 billion of taxpayer to bail it out, then technically, it's not cheaper, is it?

It might be cheaper for the consumer up front, but then his neighbor will have to pay the difference so in the final analysis the service being provided is more expensive.

I sell to government and private accounts. The government pays 30% higher for same services.

  • @lakeeriejew So you're claiming that UPS and Fed Ex are cheaper than the US Postal Service? I'm just making sure here.

  • @bleunt

How about the U.S. Postal Service which is 8 billion in debt, while UPS and Fed Ex post profits yearly.

Did you know the U.S. postal service contracts its overnight deliveries with Fed Ex?

Do you think this is because the government runs things so efficiently that they need the private sector to get the job done?
