Iceland was the patsy, the first one ahead of all the rest when it comes to the Fire Sale that began the 'Recession.' International Banks funneled their money through the Central Bank in Iceland, when the bubble burst Iceland lost 30% of its jobs. The Country was broken. It still is. Not until your little Johnny is unable to get his Happy meal will you realize that this is no mere 'Recession.'

Have to admit it
I feel bad that McDonald's left Iceland
even that I never have been in Iceland, it was something good, a famous fast food chain was in a country which many people never thought it would be there, and for many years, Icelandic people ate there and went satisfied to their homes,I hope one day that McDonald's comes back to Iceland.
