@R4Zy3L the xeon processors are, as far as I can tell, built for the workstations. the i7, i5s are built for the desktop. If your into high end animation, computational work and have a fledgling business to justify the expense, then you will go straight for a workstation! Forget the desktop for serious animating or video editing work.

Xeon Processors go waaayyy back... Intel is only improving them all the time. So Xeon itself isn't a new concept. They already existed when the PIII was still in use. The new i7 980X is (as far as I know) the newest Intel processor.

I just got interested lately in ATi's and nVidia's DX11 cards and I haven't rely got up to date with the other things such as the new Intel processors. I didn't even knew until today that there were 4GB DDR3 RAM sticks :-S

So, Intel Xeon are the new Intel processors? :D
