  • ♫ MISTER DIESEL BODINE ♫

  • Hello, ♫ Mister dkfelix ♫ and thanks for visiting! 8-)

  • NIce, I'm also a recording artist. What programme did you use for the orchestral stuff? Or did you layer a bunch of yourself playing violin cause that would be really impressive. I've done that a few times (I play violin, as well as guitar and french horn). But yeah, string sections are tough.

  • Hi ubergossen... I used MOTU Digital Performer 5 with MOTU Symphonic Instrument and M-Audio Drum & Bass Rig plugins on this particular arrangement. 8-)

  • Wow! Sorry ubergossen! I missed seeing that you posted this Comment so long ago! I used MOTU Symphonic Instrument for the Strings, though I have a Violin, Viola, and Bass Viol

  • Great Stuff! Lovely rendition. Very relaxed arrangement, interesting vocal phrasing.

I have to say though that I disagree with Pauldil. I think the arrangement of the Parker recording with the backing singers is weak and messy. However, he plays superb Alto Sax as usual.(Did you know that session was suppose to be Parker playing Classical Chamber music but Norman Grantz changed it to a more popular approach)

  • Hi Andy... glad you liked it. No I didn't know that about the Bird recording. I don't think I've heard it, at least I don't recollect having heard it. Probably the decision was a good one... I guess, but it could have shown another dimension of Parker's playing... an opportunity missed.

  • Thanks THEGEA1... I almost didn't do this tune. I heard one version that was so awful, it temporarily turned me off to the song, but I'm glad I recovered enough to do it.

    LOL & 8-)

  • Thanks Sir Barry! The Bodine Orchestra rarely complains no matter what I tell it to do. LOL & 8-)
