Right now the BC Government is poised to transfer ownership rights to over 500 wild and scenic parts of BC. This could mean the building of hundreds of independent power plants in watersheds throughout the province, without any adequate review of the environmental or community impacts. It will result in incalculable damage to wild and scenic rivers -- through road building, habitat destruction, water-diversion and a maze of new transmission lines.

"Howser in Peril" documents the efforts of a concerned local citizen who set out to explore the endangered Howser and Glacier Creek Valleys located in the Purcell Mountain Range north of Kaslo, BC. The idea of loosing this pristine region to a private corporation is now set to become a reality as this massive project is currently waiting for final approval.

Please let this film inspire yourself to become further educated on this issue and then work to educate the public! This has become a subject far grander in nature than just the damming of our BC Rivers and streams to generate more electricity. Read between the lines my friends! BC still has a healthy, intact supply of what many countries to the south of us don't! These are our remaining freshwater reserves and very few people have ever had private control over them - At least up until now...

  • You guys spread a lot of lies about these rivers & creeks! A majority of them are not navigable with any type of boat & if they are only a few "experts" can do it safely. When you guys do a protest you "show" lots of people in kayaks paddling down these rivers & creeks, you people are liars & hypocrites & blowing this whole issue out of proportion! I am so sick of you environmentalists, can't even fart anymore without you dicks saying that I am destroying the atmosphere by doing so. STFU hippies
