On Daily Giz Wiz Netcast 928 I did a report on the Coby Snapp CAM300 Camcorder. I thought I'd shoot some video so folks could see for themselves what the video quality looked like. I think it's pretty great, when you consider this camcorder sells for less than $40! Wait a minute. I just did a price search & you can find it for about $30. Listen for Daily Giz Wiz episode 928, Wednesday, October 14th, 2009. Hear it here: http://www.twit.tv/dgw928 or visit http://www.gizwiz.biz

  • The Camcorder is the Coby Snapp 3000CAM. List price is $39.95, but I saw it on Amazon for $29.95. It's pretty barebones, but it is amazing quality for the money. Even has a built in LED light for dark places. 32MB memory built in, but you'll want to use an SD card like I did.

  • I would like to see it run in snow :)

    Not that I doubt it, but . . . ..

  • Just had to say Dick, that train is AWESOME!

  • Amazing re-creation of my commute to Penn Station on the LIRR.

  • Is that nun in front of the church naked ?

  • Dick, this camera looks pretty decent for such a low price. Your train set is nice, too. Say "hi" to Leo for me.

  • After some searching I found it for $30 from J&R with free shipping but it's not the one that first comes up when you search for the Snapp 3000 on Amazon.

If you look at all the products from Coby you can find it though.

  • is the cam made by Chinese prisoners in a labor camp ?

  • Dickie, the Snapp 3000 is listed on Amazon for $34.76 plus $9 for shipping and it's sold by a company called Ace Photo that I never heard of. It was a bargain at $29 but doesn't sound so good for $45.

  • Nice video, only $40?

Also, very nice to see your train, I always hear about it in the DGW podcast :)

I had a friend in Japan when I was a kid that had a collection of miniature trains. He was crazy about it and had different models of JR trains. I think his father was also into it, he always spoke about it with a lot of passion.
