This was probably the most difficult thing to make for my entire Intro to animation 2 class. The spider puppet was built mostly out of sculpey clay and armature wire and some aluminum/brass tubes. The leg segments were baked separately as bead-like things of clay on the tubes, then strung over the wire from the body. I put stretchy tape over the legs and painted them black and then glued on cut up bits of pom-poms from the kids crafts section. It came out a bit heavy, but still more or less mobile.
